Regional WRF Model Data
The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model is a next-generation mesocale numerical weather prediction system designed to serve both operational forecasting and atmospheric research needs. Model output is generated using the Department's 256 processor Beowulf cluster with the following configuration:
- WRF Software version 3.1
- Outer Domain Resolution: 5.4 km
- Inner Domain Resolution: 1.8 km
- 36 vertical σ levels
- WRF Double Moment 6-class Microphysics
- CAM Radiation
- Noah Land-Surface
- Mellor-Yamada-Janjic Boundary Layer Parameterization
