Here is a new (Dec. 02) grades update. This summary includes 1S1P pts earned on the Controls
of Temperature and Regional Winds reports and 1S1P pts earned on the Thermal Circulations/
3-Cell Model and Atmospheric Stability assignments.
The 2nd through 7th columns show your grades on the first three quizzes.
Experiment report scores are shown in the next column (check to be sure this agrees with
what was written on your paper). A 0% indicates you haven't done an experiment yet. You
should have completed an Experiment,Book or Scientific Paper report by now. If you
haven't you should check with me as soon as you can.
The total number of 1S1P pts is shown in the next column.
An updated total number of extra credit points is shown in the next column.
This includes any credit earned on the Forces & Winds assignment or pts earned on the Thermal
Circulations/3-cell Model assignment.
The PackBack score shown in the next column has not been updated. If you didn't sign
up for PackBack you'll see a 0 in this column. Students that did sign up will see a
number that ranges from 5 to 10 in this column. That is the percentage that PackBack
will count when determining your overall score.
The last two columns show your overall average. No quizzes are dropped in grade estimate #1
(the grades calculation assumes that your Quiz #4 score will be equal to the average of
your Quiz #1, Quiz #2 and Quiz #3 scores). Grade estimate #1 is the one that needs to be 90.0%
or above on the last day of classes to be exempt from the Final Exam.
The lowest quiz score is dropped in grade estimate #2 (the calculation assumes that your
Quiz #4 scores will be equal to the average of your two highest quiz scores so far).
