Course description from UA catalog: This is a seminar course that all graduate students are required to take each academic semester. The course consists of invited speakers that will overview progress in different sub-disciplines.

 

Course requirements and grades: This course is graded as pass/fail. In order to receive a passing grade, you must be an active participant in the course by:

a. attending every HAS seminar (attendance is mandatory and will be recorded)

b. writing a 2-paragraph report on each seminar presentation (email reports to tgalarneau@email.arizona.edu within one week following the seminar)

c. asking the speaker questions during the seminar

 

If you are unable to attend a seminar, please let me know ahead of time so we can make alternative arrangements. Students are also encouraged (but not required) to attend meetings and lunches with speakers scheduled outside of class time.
