This is most likely the last 1S1P assignment of the semester. You can write about either one or both of these topics. If you are only going to write one report, it is due on the Tue., Nov. 25 due date. If you plan to write two reports, at least one of them must be turned in by the earlier Tue., Nov. 25 due date. You can turn the second report in on Tue., Dec. 2.

You can prepare 0, 1, or 2 reports as part of this topic. All the usual rules (one side of one page, double spaced, etc.) apply.

*You can earn up to 3 additional points on the 2nd topic by sketching and labeling the following surface features in the 3-cell model: horse latitudes, equatorial low (pressure belt), doldrums, prevailing westerlies, trade winds, intertropical convergence zone, subtropical high (pressure belt). You may use a 2nd page or the back of the page used for your written report for your sketch. Don't just cut and paste an image, draw your own image. Your sketch will be judged on clarity and completeness.

You can write 0, 1, or 2 reports as part of this assignment. You earn 1S1P points by writing reports and your goal should be to earn 45 pts by the end of the semester. Whether you do that by writing lots of reports early in the semester, spread the effort out over the whole semester, or try to catch up with a flurry of reports near the end of the semester is up to you.

A "hardcopy" of your report is due at the beginning of class on the date due (you can always turn in reports early). I would encourage you to keep copies of any reports you turn in. 1S1P reports must be double spaced, must fit entirely onto one side of one page (a cover page is not needed), and should be your understanding and explanation of the material (i.e. don't just cut and paste from or paraphrase source material).
