Climate, Climate Change, and the Ozone Hole:

Tucson Climate Information National Weather Service climate information for Tucson as well as southeast Arizona and the state.
Southeast Arizona Drought Monitoring National Weather Service drought monitoring site for Arizona. Shows current and past conditions.
NOAA's TAO Project Display current and past data from the tropical Pacific. Data are collected from NOAA's Tropical Atmosphere Ocean buoys which span the tropical Pacific Ocean and are used to predict El Nino/La Nina events. (El Nino & La Nina page very informative!)
El Nino Animation Displays an animation of the effect of the trade winds on the thermocline.

NOAA

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Parent agency of the NWS (National Weather Service).

NASA-Earth Science

National Aeronautics and Space Administration's earth science pages.

UCAR

University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. Parent organization of NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research).

AMS

American Meteorological Society. A professional society primarily for Meteorologists and Researchers in Atmospheric Science. The AMS also accredits Meteorologists.

AGU

American Geophysical Union. Similar to the AMS but with a broader base in Oceanography and the Geosciences. Does not accredit Meteorologists.

WMO

World Meteorological Organization. A United Nations special agency on weather, climate, and water.

Learning Tools:

Cloud Atlas Prof. Houze's (University of Washington) online cloud atlas. Good suppliment to the chart at the back of your book.
Station Plot NOAA's National Center for Environmental Prediction sample station plot. Explains how to read a station plot and defines terms.
Gas Molecule Behavior Discussion of the behavior of gas molecules including a movie where you can enter the number of molecules in the volume and see how things change as the number of molecules changes.
Greenhouse Effect Discussion of the atmospheric greenhouse effect.
