Two mile stretch of I-10 is deadliest in Arizona
Due to the number of fatal crashes on a two mile stretch of interstate near Picacho Peak, the area now has the unfortunate distinction as the deadliest portion of I-10 in Arizona. The dust storm that occurred on October 29th brings the death toll to over 50 people since 2000. Dr. Avelino Arellano spoke to the Arizona Daily Star regarding dust storm modeling and the implementation of weather stations in dust-prone areas along interstates in Arizona.
